form   a  walk  team

why  form  a  team?

Walking in our "Ceremonial Walk For Autism" with people you know makes participating event more fun! Fundraising together makes it that much easier to reach your goals. Teams can be made up of co-workers, friends, family members or anyone who wants to walk for a great cause.  If you can recruit dedicated people to walk with you (and we know you can!), consider forming a team.

Use this checklist to ensure that you have completed all of the steps necessary to have a successful Walk team this year.
  1. Create your fundraising page.  Visit https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/51T002/register!
  2. Set a fundraising goal, ask others to join you and create a "team."
  3. Ask each team member to set a fundraising goal. For example, a team of can easily raise $1,000 if each walker raises $200.
  4. Remind your team members to register themselves on Firstgiving by sending an e-mail that includes a link for them to register on your team.
  5. Involve your company/employer
  6. Did you email your co-workers to join the team?
  7. Did you involve your boss to rally your company team?
  8. Encourage all team members to be active fundraisers for autism awareness and advocacy
  9. Email or call team members regularly to answer questions and check on their progress
  10. Thank everyone who has made a donation to your team
  11. Attend the Autism Support & Resource Center events!
  12. Stress the importance of fundraising throughout the pre -walk period. The purpose of this Walk is to raise money for autism programs, family services, awareness and advocacy.
  13. Create your own Team T-Shirt or button, Team Banner or Team Sign for Walk day!

Teams that raise over $500 receive recognition on the back of the Autism Run/Walk T-Shirts, banner and printed materials!!!
