‘Dine to Donate’
Every Wednesday during the month of April (7th, 14th, 21st and 28th) anyone who dines at Damons and presents our ASGGC, 20% of their total bill will be donated to our Autism Group to benefit area families of children with autism.

2010 'Autism Walk and Festival' on Saturday, June 5th. 11am - 3pm

Flushing YMCA
G 5219 W. Pierson Rd. in Flushing, MI.
(approx. 1/2 mi. w. of I-75, exit #122 )
The two paved walking trails are .4 and.7 mi.
Registration is FREE.
Entertainment will include Music, Bounce Houses, Lego Robotics, Star Wars Characters, live animals, trolley rides, lots of kid's activities, games and great food & drink. There will also be raffles, auctions and prizes!
Darth Vader will lead the Walk!!
Come join us for a fun day to help a great cause! All proceeds go toward our Farm-based Residential Project for Autistic Adults.

MONTHLY MEETINGS :
Monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month during the school year only (no meetings July or August) at the First Congregational Church (NEW LOCATION!), 6494 Belsay Road, Grand Blanc which is located on the corner of Belsay and Perry Roads.  Meeting times are from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. For more information regarding our support group, please call Cheryll at: (810) 694-8034 or Pat at: (810) 694-0244. Childcare is available for meetings. Please contact Jennifer Cunningham by email jengrandblanc@aol.com or phone 810 458-3863 to rsvp for childcare so we can staff it adequately.

Aspergers Monthly Teen Nights - Open to ALL Aspies! Held at the St. Joseph Parish on the back side of Holy Family Church in Grand Blan (corner of Perry and Saginaw) Contact Amy for more information.

TEEN ASPERGERS SOCIAL ACTIVITIES :

The Aspergers Support Group of Genesee County (a sub-group of the Autism Support Group of Genesee County) holds teen social events on a monthly basis. For more information on these events, please check the Aspergers online message board.

Young Adult HFA/Asperger Group:
The Autism Support group of Genesee County has a newly formed group of young adults or adults with HFA/aspergers who meet monthly. The first hour of the meeting is usually a teaching lesson to help young adults learn independent living skills (e.g., how to change a flat tire, how to make small talk, maps & directions, paying bills, hygiene, etc) The second hour is hands on experience or sometimes just social. Additional topics may involve a speaker, field trip or special session at a university or business.

Bill Nason Educational Groups - For parents of children with autism. Bill Nason, psychologist who specializes n autism, meets monthly with small groups of parents/caregivers to discuss strategies to help children withautism that parents can implement at home. There are two groups each focusing on different age groups. These meetings are for adults only! Space is limited. FREE Younger Children's Group (ages 6 and under). Contact Kathy. PALACE GRANT ACCOUNTS:

We work a concession stand at the Palace and DTE to raise money for our children. Each person has a grant account set up for thier own child. The money in the grant account can be used for therapies, medications, social activities, etc. If you are interested in helping on one of these dates please contact Pat .
