ASRC P.O.W.E.R. Soccer has been developed to expand the capabilities, confidence, and quality of life for children living with autism. The program is designed to encourage fun, learning, coordination and social interaction in positive environment. Program led by Cole Skinner, Jr. Piston’s Coach of the Year and Grand Blanc Unified Coach (Special Olympics Basketball Program). Additional coaching staff are trained in evidenced-based best practices. Our philosophy is to combine neuro-typical “peer buddies” with youth living with a developmental disability. Players will have an opportunity to engage in a sports program with peers who can help them grow and expand their social experiences.

We are excited to welcome back returning athletes and meet new ones this fall! Coach Cole is eager to get started with our soccer program held on Mondays for 6 weeks beginning September 30th and ending on November 4th. Sessions are hosted at McGrath Elementary School (5288 Todd St. Grand Blanc) with the exception of the 10/28 and 11/4 sessions which will be at Brendel Elementary School (223 Bust St. Grand Blanc). Your child will either be in the 6pm-7pm class or 7pm-8pm class depending on their developmental level. Consistent with our membership process, program participants must have a current membership application and Needs Assessment Form on file with us. This allows us to determine appropriate placement for your child. Cost is $75 to participate and includes a t-shirt!
