ASRC P.O.W.E.R. Soccer has been developed to expand the capabilities, confidence, and quality of life for children living with autism. The program is designed to encourage fun, learning, coordination and social interaction in positive environment. Program led by Cole Skinner, Jr. Piston’s Coach of the Year and Grand Blanc Unified Coach (Special Olympics Basketball Program). Additional coaching staff are trained in evidenced-based best practices. Our philosophy is to combine neuro-typical “peer buddies” with youth living with a developmental disability. Players will have an opportunity to engage in a sports program with peers who can help them grow and expand their social experiences.
register now for spring 2019!
We are excited to welcome back returning athletes and meet new ones this spring! Coach Cole is eager to get started with our soccer program held on Wednesdays for 6 weeks beginning March 13th, 2019 and ending April 24th! (No class March 27). Held at McGrath Elementary School in Grand Blanc Public School, your child will either be in the 6pm-7pm class or 7pm-8pm class depending on their developmental level. Consistent with our new membership renewal process, program participants must have a current Needs Assessment Form on file with us. This allows us to determine appropriate placement for your child. Cost is $65 to participate and includes a t-shirt!
To participate, you must first complete the Needs Assessment Form (if you have not yet completed one in the last year). Click below to complete. Also, please communicate your interest in participating in soccer at email@example.com or via Facebook Messenger. Once that is received and we determine placement, you will be sent a link to an online registration form.
