Adult Volunteers are volunteers who have experience working with children on the autism spectrum. They will be responsible for leading groups of approximately 7 children/teens with autism, as well as providing leadership to Junior Counselors and Peer Buddies. This is a wonderful opportunity for school professionals to continue working with children during the summer to further develop their skill set. Volunteers may include: teachers, social workers, paraprofessionals, occupational therapists, respite workers, etc.
Volunteers will be required to attend an orientation session. Date TBA.
A junior counselor is a high school student at least age 16 that belongs to the National Honor Society or comes highly recommended by teachers. Junior Counselors will have the unique opportunity to work directly with children ages 7-18 with autism during a Extraordinary Summer Camp Program! JC's will work within a group of approx 7 children/teens with autism and a few of their peers along with trained professionals. This unique opportunity allows youth with autism to have a summer camp experience designed especially for them.
Junior Counselors will be required to attend a training session. Date TBA.
